Changes at BMC

We have made the decision to shift our Professional Massage Therapists from employees to independent contractors.

WHY: Time, money, and a commitment to our clients and MTs!
We felt the time and costs involved in operating this model took away from our energies in supporting the best client experience. Financially and psychologically, this model was not sustainable. It did not feel right to up our rates or lower the MT pay rate in order to cover the efforts exerted. We value our clients AND our MTs whole-heartedly. In operating as more of a Massage Collective, with each MT renting space and directing their own business operations, our focus can remain on what we intend it to - OUR CLIENTS and this work that we love to do!

WHAT THIS MEANS: Brittany, Devon, and Lana will still be working their magic at BMC. You can still book with them online, and no one's rates will be sky-rocketing. You will see them listed under our "Team" page and you can access their online booking through our website.

As of SEPTEMBER 1, BMC will no longer operate a booking system for Professional Massage. BMC will only operate the booking system for BMSVT Student Clinic. Each Professional MT (Brittany, Devon, and Lana) will operate their own scheduling system. We will have a button to book with each of them on our website so it'll be easy to find. We will also provide a schedule so clients know who is working what days.

Each MT will be the point of contact for their business bookings. Please call, text, or email the MT you are scheduled with directly. BMC will no longer be managing the Professional Massage client communications as of 9/1.

We thank you for your continued support! We love what we do and who we get to share it with - our clients and each other. We love cohabitating as a professional family at BMC and intend to maintain this community of comradery :-)

Steph Haddox - Owner, BMSVT Director and Lead Instructor

Welcome to Balance Massage! I'm Steph Haddox, spiritual enthusiast and lifelong student and practitioner of massage therapy. I have had the joy and pleasure of being a massage therapist since 2011, and I am continually humbled by the fulfillment of this work. I have gratitude for every person that decides to share a piece of their life journey with me. I believe in providing a safe and sacred space, a place where people can let go, take a breath, and just be.

What you can expect from working with me: I will hold space for you. I will see the whole you - the body, the mind, the spirit, and the emotion. I will share advice on physical self-care, but not on personal matters. I choose to practice active listening, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. I will combine techniques and modalities to best approach your whole self on a given day. I will not crank on your body and irritate soft tissue. I will apply massage techniques appropriately by sinking into the tissue, rather than forcing my way through. I will honor both what your body tells me and my own intuition to best serve you. I believe in working together through a collaborative approach. I will allow space for healing, and empower you to guide your own healing. And if you "just want a massage", I hear you! Come on in and receive.

I welcome all to my table. Any race, gender, spirituality, orientation, identity, and ability has a supported and safe space at Balance Massage.

Jen Clark - BMC Manager, Student Clinic Manager

Hello, I’m Jen! I’ve been working in the health and wellness field for many years. My journey has taken me from personal training, to group training, to health mentoring and back. I had been interested in massage therapy for many of these years but it wasn’t until my daughter Zoe walked by BMSVT and brought home a brochure that I was able to see this dream become reality. Not only was receiving massage a way to put my body at ease, but also allowed my mind and spirit to rest and relax while providing me a safe place to heal and grow from the inside out. I am a firm believer that keeping this connection healthy is vital to living my best life.Giving a massage allows me to communicate without words, and promotes healing that is gentle yet progressive.

I am so happy to offer massage therapy at Balance Massage Center for those wanting to find their connection or searching for a moment to relax! I offer a safe space and see the whole person, a place where you can just breathe. I use a mixture of modalities with the person's input to create a custom treatment for each individual. I welcome you all and look forward to meeting you in the future! If I have met you before, I look forward to seeing you again!

I live in Moretown with my husband Joey, son Ethan, daughter Zoe, and our dog Batman. When I am not massaging I love being with my family.

Brittany O’Brien - Brittany O’Brien Massage, BMSVT Instructor

I had the great fortune of being introduced to massage at an early age, so when I began my mental health and sobriety journey massage quickly became a vital tool in my self-regulation tool box. After graduating from Balance Massage School in 2020 I jumped right into practicing and my joy in this work has only grown ever since.

I utilize Swedish, Myofascial and Deep Tissue techniques to customize each massage to the body on my table. I have a particular focus on massage as a CNS and mental health support through fostering the mind/body connection. I am endlessly fascinated with the human body and look forward to learning about each person who gets on my table.

Schedule at Balance Massage Center: Tuesdays + Thursdays 8am-8pm, Fridays + Saturdays 2pm-8pm.

Devon Boy - Massage Therapist

Hi, I’m Devon! I was guided to pursue massage therapy because it was something impactful I could do for family and friends. Since stepping into the field, however, I’ve realized this was the career path I was meant to take and I've never been happier. I love the connections made with other humans in this profession. The exchange of energy that takes place between the client and therapist is truly incredible.

My all-time favorite food is tacos (especially with corn tortillas). And a fun fact about me is that I lived in Japan for 2 years teaching English.

I can’t wait to work with you!

Schedule at Balance Massage Center: Mondays, Tuesdays, + Wednesdays 10am-7pm, Saturdays 10am-6pm.

Lana Svirydziuk - Massage Therapist

Born and raised in Belarus, I transited (for 5 years!) through Cape Cod before arriving in the Green Mountain state in 2015, where I still feel very blessed to be living.
I've been in different kinds of service jobs since the beginning of my work path: from working at a gas station, to a restaurant, to growing food, to instructing snowboarding and more. The massage path appeared for me in 2020 as the next level of service and it fulfilled the long existing desire to help people heal.
Massage is a perfect tool for me to do so by connecting with people through touch, which is grounding for both myself and the client I'm working with. And, simply put, this is what I’m supposed to be doing at this moment in my life :)
Outside of the massage room I love to play in the mountains (hiking, biking, boarding), play music, grow/eat organic veggies and nap/snuggle with my kitty.
A fun fact about me is that I am an astrology nerd and I plant the seeds according to the moon signs and phases.

Schedule at Balance Massage Center: Sundays 2pm-8pm.

Molly Kramer - Front Desk Administrator

Hi, I’m Molly :) I began studying yoga in 2019, and what transpired was an inquiry into various worlds of awareness. Yoga, massage, Ayurveda, and other modalities have added more consciousness, release, and creativity to my life. I enrolled at Balance Massage School in 2021, and it only furthered my interest in healing arts and restorative experiences. I love offering therapies for those who are looking for deeper rest and nourishment in modern life, and I’m so excited to continue on this path and see where it goes!

When I’m not being a yoga/massage/Ayurveda nerd, I like to listen to good music, read, bake, and travel.
